Men’s Day 9 Road Race

Due to a racing incident at, approximately, the 12.5km of the race (around 7:30am) several riders required initial medical assessment. These assessments led to a requirement for multiple ambulance support. The onsite race medical support personnel were used for initial triage and the race was immediately neutralised. It was then decided to stop the race to allow the medical staff to attend to those involved in the accident.

As this Road Race was a, multi lap, short 13.9km circuit race racing was not able to be re-started until the road was cleared. With the road not opening until around 9:45am and a number of teams not continuing the race was abandoned.
